This year beats vole fever to – Aftonbladet

Stockholm. Unusually many will suffer from hantavirus disease in winter, warn researchers at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Some 3 000 people feared being infected, as many case, Sweden has not had since 2007 and 2008, early in the summer, more than 50 people have been diagnosed, according to The Echo in Swedish Radio.

The risk of infection is greatest in the northern parts of the country where skogssorken is most common. The virus is spread in the feces of animals and on to humans via dust particles that we breathe.

The symptoms – high fever, nausea, and abdominal and back pain – often confused with the flu. Additionally attacked the kidneys.
