MP wants pledge on mobiles – Västervikstidningen

The Green Party wants to introduce a deposit of $ 100 on mobile phones to get more people to leave worn mobiles for recycling.

We envision that there is a lien gap of all places that sell mobile phones, says the party’s mouthpiece Asa Romson to Metro.

MP imagines a system similar to how it works with PET bottles and aluminum cans. A pledge of $ 100 is added to the selling price which is then paid back when the phone is made.

Today collected only a fraction, about 450 000 mobiles, in a year. But experts in the recycling industry does not believe that the used cell phones end up in the trash or in the wild, but there are millions of unused mobiles in Swedish homes.
