Stockholm. The politically contentious RUT deduction for household services has become increasingly popular throughout the country since 2009, according to new statistics from the Swedish Tax Agency, reports SVT Rapport.
The statistics, commissioned by the Centre Party, shows that nearly seven out of 10 who used the deduction has a salary below 32 000 per month. It is a figure that according to Industry Minister Annie Loof (C) contradicts the RUT deduction be critics who argue that the deduction is for the rich.
– This shows you that it is ordinary people with ordinary incomes who purchase routine- services, she says to SVT.
The use of the deductible services varies greatly in the country. In northern Gellivare used the average resident deduction for a fraction of the average residents in Danderyd amount.
