It is very risky to venture out of the fire-ravaged forest in Västmanland. Forest Agency warns that it may take months before it is safe to stay in the area.
“It is understandable that landowners who want to find out how the victim’s own forests are of the fire. It is still too early to venture out into the fire area, as it is fraught with risks, “says forestry consultant Lars Ambrosiusson in a press release from the authority.
It may continue to glow in the chips without showing it for a long time to come, despite moisture or snow. Trees can fall over without warning and soil on slopes may become unstable if the root system is blown.
