today, the private citizens can legally buy alcohol online from a hundred companies, and have the goods delivered to their home. According to the Ministry’s new proposal, the type of sale to be stopped, and those who want to buy alcohol must instead do it remotely, then be sure to get it imported and delivered with a separate transport.
“Ultimately, this is all about protecting the Swedish alcohol policy, which mainly aimed at children and young people should not get hold of alcohol,” says public health Gabriel Wikström (S) to Sveriges Radio, Ekot.
On the question of whether there can be more complicated to order on the way, the answer Wikström:
– What you can say is that there should be established new sales channels in Sweden. Just like if you go to Denmark or Germany and is alcohol you get to transport it home yourself. The same rules shall apply if one is at a distance.
Ole Nielsen, however, is of a completely different view:
” the Whole purpose is that it will be more complicated and you should build walls around the monopoly. There is a substantial trade barriers in order to complicate for the people.
He also believes that the proposal is contrary to current EU law on the free movement across borders of services and products.
” Our assessment is that it can’t put up such obstacles. We assume that this will be the total squared of the heavy bodies.
But Gabriel Wikström think it is too early to judge out the proposal:
– Now it goes out on a referral that we receive as much feedback as possible.
