Svedala municipality is sentenced to pay 22 000 dollars in compensation to a 19-year-old woman for not having done enough to protect her against racist insults in school.
Centralskolan, where Emelie went to her last school year, is now grated.
Itv have previously told you about Emelie that today is 19 years. Emelie, which is actually called something else, has light brown skin and a mother from Africa. It was enough that she would be subjected to years of bullying.
Before the district court told Emelie on his last year of school in Svedala in grade eight.
” It was the worst year of my life. I was racist and sexist harassed. I was ostracised. I was pushed and kicked and spotted in the face. I ended up eating in the dining room because I was harassed and got food thrown your hair.
” I was told that I was a wog and a negro, and that I have not heard back in Sweden, she said.
Because she believes that the school did little to stop the bullying, she has demanded that the Svedala municipality pay a symbolic compensation of eur 22 000 kronor.
But the municipality contends that the school is not known, that the violation would have been comprehensive and systematic. In cases where the school has been told that something has happened, claims the municipality has done everything in his power to help Emelie.
When the case came up in the Ystad district court earlier in October focused the hearing on four incidents. In three of the cases consider the right that the school has done enough. In the context of the fourth event, the court considers that the school failed.
Therefore sentenced the municipality now to pay 22 000 dollars in the diskrimineringsersättning to the woman.
