Extremists get the sympathy of the pupils – financial times

Society. More than every tenth student in Gothenburg’s northeast suburbs say they sympathize with religious extremist organisations according to a recent survey.

1 200 school children between 12 and 18 years in socially and economically deprived neighbourhoods in Gothenburg responded to the survey, which also identified the presence of hedersförtryck. 11% claimed that they felt sympathy for the religious extremists, and 13 percent said they know someone with such sympathies.

No parallel societies

78.4 percent of the girls believe that they are tightly controlled in their privacy of the parents, compared with 16.5 percent among the guys.

34.8% of the girls never get to go on a class trip with an overnight stay, compared with 13.6 per cent of the guys.

39.1 per cent of the girls get a go at the youth center, compared with 82 per cent of the guys.

23.2 per cent of the girls are allowed by their parents to socialize with both sexes compared to 93,2 per cent of the guys.

41.1 per cent of the girls may not have a relationship for their parents, compared with 15.5 per cent of the guys.
