2006 resigned Muf-chairman Johan Forssell, and began work as chief of staff to the new prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. It was a maktstrid between Mattias Thorsson, who was the nominating committee’s candidate, and the challenger, Niklas Wykman. Wykman won the vote with the numbers 63 to 49.

1992 challenged, Fredrik Reinfeldt, the former youth league chairman Ulf Kristersson. That choice is called “the battle of Lycksele”. Reinfeldt won with three votes after a long and hard campaign, where the tracks still visible.

Experiences of ledarstrider in the youth league, but also within the social democratic youth league (SSU), shows that ungdomsstrider and choice of side tend to follow far in the political career of moderpartierna.
