48-year-old is suspected of genocide – Aftonbladet

Crime. A 48-year-old man in Örebro, sweden has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.

Man was arrested early on Tuesday morning and was arrested later in the day. He is suspected of genocide and serious crimes. Krigsbrottskommissionen investigating the suspicions against him.

the Man came to Sweden in 1998 and became a Swedish citizen in 2006, according to police.

Life imprisonment

Stanislas Mbanenande was sentenced in 2013 to life imprisonment by the district court. That judgment was upheld later in the court of appeal.

Claver Berinkindi was sentenced in may of this year and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court. The judgment is appealed and the trial in the court of appeal is not yet completed.
