National Inter Athens will have the same terms as everyone else – Swedish Radio

Lundsberg, Grenna and Sigtuna get as Sweden’s three national boarding a special government grant from the government. But now it’s the end of it.

– We are positive that it will be the same rules for all private schools with boarding operations, says Johan von Schéele, board member at Lundsberg.

Man started the three national boarding schools for children who had parents who lived and worked abroad. The idea was that the schools would give children a place to stay and study at. For this, the schools received a government grant. In addition to the state grant, they have been able to charge a fee from the parents.

– If a school charges a very high student fee, which of course some of them have done and are doing, so it means that only parents with thick wallets that can afford to put their children there, said Jan Björklund, Minister of Education.

now think the government that the three schools should no longer receive this unique government grant and that they should not permitted to charge a student fee of the parents. The government today lodging proposal to the council and the idea is that one should abolish fees from 2016.

– This change that we now do, that they are no longer allowed to charge fees. For there shall be no more schools in Sweden do, says Jan Björklund.
