16 arrested after death firing – Aftonbladet

A young man was shot dead in Skäggetorp in Linköping in the night and another was shot.

During the night, a large number of people arrested.

– We have 17 detainees, said Thomas Agnevik, press spokesman at police in Östergötland to Aftonbladet.

This morning arrested 16 of them.

A three-way intersection a short distance from an elementary school in Skäggetorps center is today a spontaneous meeting place for residents. On the tarmac visible puddles and splashes of blood after the night’s event, where a man in his 20s was shot to death in a confrontation between two gangs.

“I’m afraid”

“Someone is going to die”

He says it is known that members of the gang Black Cobra’s Skäggetorp and he’s not afraid of them.

– But there are young guys and they are unpredictable, he says.

Shot outside of school

It was last night at 23:29 as the police were alerted to Nygård school in the district Skäggetorp in Linköping.

– We get a call about gunfire. On the site found one person deceased and another injured, said Joakim Stenman.

He tells me that they are in place just minutes later and first found the dead man.

– First encountered a lifeless man who is deceased at the site and then found the injured are taken to hospital, said Joakim Stenman.

Grabbed 17 people

He says that these are young men, in 20 -30s. The dead man has not yet been identified, but police said the injured 29-year-old man.

During the night, the police have also arrested 17 men linked to the shooting. 16 of them were arrested in the morning, seven of them for complicity in murder and nine of them for attempted murder, writes TT.

– They were arrested in connection to the crime scene, pretty close in approximately the same area as we suppose that the crime took place. We have a space between Skäggetorp center and Nygård School we regard as crime scene. And it was in the same part of Skäggetorp who these people were arrested, said Thomas Agnevik, press spokesman at police in Östergötland to Aftonbladet.

Links with gang crime

In conjunction with the 17 men , which is between 25 and 40 were arrested, found himself some 20 police officers on the scene.

– This was in no way expected. Without that we had so much resources because we had evening staff who were left and got back to work during the night, says Thomas Agnevik.

Last night police said that there are things in the report which indicate a gang battle, an image that confirmed this morning.

– We know that they have connections to previous crime, we know them from the so-called gang environment previously. But who belongs to what or what gangs called do not know. There are criminal elements that occur in cases involving serious crime and gang environment, says Agnevik.

Shot Injured suspect

One of those arrested is the shot injured 29-year-old discharged from hospital .

– He is also a plaintiff because he had been shot, said Agnevik.

Police are investigating the shooting as a murder and attempted murder, but the suspicions directed against the 17 persons is unclear.

During the night, ransacked the place with one including dog patrols and police work at the scene continues throughout the day.
