Nearly one-tenth of all beef produced in Sweden is never food. Reduced wastage in the production chain would provide both increased profitability and reduced environmental impact of agriculture, says Agriculture. (TT)

Nearly one-tenth of all beef produced in Sweden never gets food. It shows a mapping of the losses in the production chain from farm to slaughter Agriculture Department conducted.

As losses are counted including stillborn calves, calves that die or are killed during childhood and losses during transport and slaughter.
