Eight out of ten worried about the rise of racism – Aftonbladet

Eight out of ten Swedes are worried about the increasing xenophobia.

Almost half is worried about the growing immigration, according to a new survey.

For the first time the SOM Institute at the University of Gothenburg investigated the Swede’s concerns about xenophobia, reports Swedish Radio.

And the result is clear: the vast majority are worried about racist attitudes. 78 percent say they feel great or very great concern for increased xenophobia.

At the same time worried, just under half of respondents, 49 percent, of increased immigration.

– I think it’s pretty clear that what the Swedish population are concerned about is rather attitudes towards refugees and immigrants, than concerned for refugees and immigrants themselves, says Marie Demker.
