Schools are closed during the police operation – Västerbotten Courier

A school and a kindergarten in Åmotfors in Värmland has been closed since the police received information that a man may be armed are in a building near the campus.

– There are no threats against schools. But we have decided to close all the entrance weighing less time effort underway, says Tommy Lindh, information officer at the police in Varmland, said.

The police have launched a comprehensive effort. Staff and children at schools are safe.

– There have been reports saying that the person in the property may have access to weapons. He should also have threatened to take his own life. We have specially trained staff in place to try to establish contact with the man, says Tommy Lindh.
