the Fire at the dump in Forsbacka between Gävle and Sandviken is now expected to be under control, even if the fire is put out will continue in large parts of the day.
Emergency services have been borrowed into havspumpar from Gävle Harbour and the water has been from a pool with restvatten from the tip. The authority for civil contingencies agency has provided the emergency services with extra thick tubing which cope with the pressure of the big pumps.
last night emergency services worked with the irrigation and brandgata as in a forest fire in order to get to grips with the fire.
” I think it has worked great for the hours I have been on the ground. Brandgatan have they done now to cover up where it is dangerous brandmaterial as biogas and such explosive gases. So it has worked great, and I think they should widen the street even more now, ” says the fireman, Anna, Jupiter, fireman at Bergby deltidsbrandkår.
Heavy tracked vehicles are available on-site in Forsbacka to shoot it together, burning the material.
the Rescue service believes now that the fire is under control.
“the Wind has been with us and kept himself on the right side, so we are very happy for,” she says.
