Sweden one person was rescued by firefighters in connection with a fire at the construction of the new Karolinska hospital in Solna.
 - He was trapped on the ninth floor, says Albin Birch bark Berg officer at the police control.

A huge black cloud of smoke spread around the scene of the fire on Wednesday, and it should be according to the emergency services about Styrofoam to have caught fire. The fire must have started on the construction site and not in any of the completed buildings.

– It was a slap in the initial stage. With that said, it is not certain that it was the explosion that caused the fire. We do not know what the cause of the fire. We suspect that it is the Institute. It burns at the back of the property, says Albin Birch bark Berg, information officer at the police control center shortly after the alarm about the fire came.

What happens now?

– we evacuate and try to cordon off so it does not go past the traffic. This is one of the plastic that is burning and it is not good to breathe. What I understand is not the fire extinguished.

Extensive roadblocks

Police sealed for a period of Solnavägen, while people in adjacent buildings have been evacuated because of the strong smoke development. One person was trapped high up in one of the nearby buildings.

– He was trapped on the ninth floor, but firefighters and fire fighters were able to take him down. He had inhaled a little smoke, but received oxygen and it was enough. He should not have had to seek hospital treatment, says Birch bark Mountains.

Neurology PhD student Matthijs Dorst was two buildings away from the fire itself. He discovered it himself, before he read about it in the media. He tweeted amazed to find answers to what it was that was going on.

– I saw the clouds of smoke in a minute. We were afraid that the new building was on fire. Our department will move there when it is completed. But fortunately it was not the case, says the PhD student Matthijs Dorst.

At 14:40, the police announce that the fire is extinguished, and another 10 minutes later was released cordon but continued reduced speed off.
