Gothenburg an explosion occurred in an elderly man’s balcony in the Bishop’s Palace in the night to Monday.
- What we know is that there has been an explosion or a slap on the site, and we are investigating the matter right now, said police spokesman Christer Fuxborg.
Many calls received by the police during the night of Monday to accommodation had heard a loud bang in the Bishop’s Palace, but police found nothing when they arrived on the scene. First morning discovered broken glass. The police came again there and found that an explosion had occurred on a balcony. Police then began a technical study. Everything indicates that someone has thrown up an object on the balcony that has exploded.
There is only one apartment hit by the explosion and an elderly man were in the residence at the event. The man was not injured in the incident but was very upset.
– He hardly know anyone in the area and do not understand why someone has done like this. He has no enemies. We are shocked, says a person familiar with the man.
– The person living there are not known by us in any way, says Max Olsson, Director of Operations.
Police headlining the event as murder – or attempted manslaughter and is now knocking the door in the area to come in contact with any witnesses.
– We have our engineers on the spot. So far we do not know if it was what people called in to us on the night, but it can almost assume, says Christer Fuxborg.
According to a witness at the site, it has become a large hole in the balcony and the windows are blown off. GP has spoken to Ernes. He lives 25 meters from the balcony where the explosion took place and was awakened by the blast.
– I went into the kitchen to see what had happened and then had my kitchen roll holder fallen down, he says.
Ernes has lived in the Bishop’s Palace since 1993 and think it was the best place to grow up.
– But now I have a little daughter. It’s not okay for her to go out and play as I did.
Now save Ernes money to move away from the Bishop’s Palace.
– When we had just come home from the hospital and would bathe my daughter first, then it was gunfire here just wide. That one should have to connect such a case with such a fine event, it’s bizarre, ‘he says.
