S: “Understanding how V thinking” – Aftonbladet

Budget. the Left does not support the Government’s proposal that employers should be involved pay costs when employees become sick. The party believes that the proposal is likely to increase the selection of the labor market.

– I have a full understanding of how the Left thinks in this part, says Minister for social Annika Strandhäll (S) said.

This spring, the government proposed that 25 percent of the costs of a sick leave lasting more than 90 days to be paid by the employer. With the so-called health exchange proposal the government wants to increase pressure on employers to take greater responsibility for rehabilitation and prevention work to reduce sick leave.

Supported not by V

– It is a very important proposal. We are in a position with 200,000 Swedes who are sick today and we know that employers have a key role to get people back to work as quickly as possible, says Annika Strandhäll (S) said.

the proposal is not supported by the Left who believe that the consequence of the proposal could be that employers choose not to hire people who have a history of sick leave and increased fixed-term contracts.

– Health Change proposal is produced from three basic principles. One has been to exclude those groups that have a weak position in the labor market from this proposal. Then it’ll be cost neutral to the employer and there should be a protection for small businesses, says Annika Strandhäll (S).

“Will continue dialogue “

For Swedish radio news says Ulla Andersson, economic policy spokesman for the Left, that the proposal is likely to increase the selection of the labor market.

Annika Strandhäll emphasizes that she has had a dialogue with the Left on the issue and that she has full understanding of how the party going.

– If you have had previous problems or history will not be covered by health shift, she says.

She wants the proposal to be included in the autumn budget, but may, under Ulla Andersson expect to negotiate with the Left. Annika Strandhäll says she is willing to negotiate, but that the proposal remains unchanged.

– We have an ongoing dialogue with the Left. When it comes to the goal of staff in welfare should not have to get sick after their jobs, we have exactly the same view. We will continue the dialogue with them about why this is important.
