– You can see a pattern where people who work in offices have a higher sickness absence. It could also have to do with the spread of diseases easier in an open environment, says Aram Seddigh researching for office environments at Stockholm University and the School.
He is backed by Lisa Rönnbäck, Project Manager at Prevent, working with office design.
– Generally it is they who are in the big offices who thrive worst and hear the most noise on the job, she says.
A few years ago, researchers from Princeton concluded that a messy desk overload the brain and destroys the ability to concentrate. Mess also inhibits productivity and cause it when the information is processed.
– There are personal preferences about how the desktop looks, but most would agree that not having it so messy. Companies that take up customers to the office sees that it is especially important to have it nicely, says Aram Seddigh.
But the office type is best is a complex issue with different advantages and disadvantages.
