Meir, who was born in the USA with a Swedish mother, has always aimed for the stars. After a master’s degree in space research, she was one of ten adopted to NASA’s astronaut program in 2008. Five years later, she was elected again as one of eight being trained at Johnson Space Center in Texas. If all goes Meir becomes the next Swedish in space by Christer Fuglesang 2009.
