Hunting is allowed on the airport – Östgöta Correspondenten

Hunting

It should be allowed to hunt at Hemavan Tärnaby Airport, in the county of Västerbotten. The reason is that the county board want to reduce the risk of collisions between aircraft and wildlife, reports the SVT Västerbotten, sweden.

the Permit, which extends until 2019, means that it will be allowed to hunt, including elk, raven, seagull, and havstrut. According to the County, there are a number of flygsäkerhetsskäl justifying the authorization for the hunting, but it comes with some conditions.

the Hunt may only take place in places where the airport is surrounded by fence and after all the preventive measures to prevent animals entering the area have been taken. In total there are about 50 individuals who may be folded at the site per year.
