Fire causes delays in train – Swedish Radio

The railway between Katrineholm and Flen completely stopped for an hour on another day. Several small fires along the embankment on the route meant that all traffic was stopped, and now travelers to expect delays rest of the qualifiers.

Both mainline and regional trains were affected of the stop, including trains between Gothenburg and Stockholm, Malmö and Stockholm and Karlstad-Stockholm.

At half past five o’clock was the emergency services on site to extinguish the six smaller fires that of unknown reasons hit the stretch.

– It took about an hour to get the fires extinguished, but now scrolls the traffic back to normal but with some resulting delays, says Beisi Sundin, the press officer at the Swedish Transport Administration, to P4 Sörmlandsleden.

The resulting delays Sundin references may amount to an hour during the evening, as it has been completely stops on the route where it passes many trains each day.
