Signal error and without power lines caused major disruption to rail services in the Stockholm area and in Östergötland.
Sabotage is suspected to be behind the stop in Östergötland.
Thousands of passengers had a tough Monday with large delays.
At 16 o’clock it became a stop in train between Mjölby and Norrköping. It is believed to have been caused by young people on a footbridge in Linköping thrown branches of the live electric wires at the railway track, local media reported.
Only after a few hours could be one of the two tracks opened and traffic could start rolling again with limited capacity.
Suspected sabotage
Police have not found any suspects yet.
– We are currently gathering information, says Thomas Agnevik, spokesman for police in Östergötland.
There were classified as sabotage.
The shutdown affected the long-distance trains from Stockholm to Malmö and commuter trains in Östergötland. SJ trains had to turn in Mjölby and Norrköping and passengers had to go regional in between. Only at 23:30 was the second track could be opened and traffic could be re-roll as usual on the route.

At 19:30 o’clock had 30 of SJ’s trains affected by the two stops. In total there was about about 15 000 passengers.
– We have ordered buses to Solna, but not enough, says Anders Edgren at SJ’s press office said.
