KD-profile threatens to leave the party – Aftonbladet

Tomorrow selected Ebba Busch Thor the new chairman of the Christian Democrats.

In the morning the Christian Democrats an extra riksting to elect a new party chairman.

Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet has called around to several famous names in KD – expressing a deep concern for the right rotation they now believe that the party will take.

One of them is very critical is the former MP, lawyer Peter Althin. He has also served on the KD National Executive from 2001 to 2011.

Althin is clear that if Ebba Busch Thor gets elected he will leave the party.

– I have nothing against her. It is the policy she has been flagged. That KD is now going to be the party that stands at the far right of all parliamentary parties will make it a party where I do not belong, he said.

– Where did all people are equal way? Where did humanism and Christian ethics go?

Ebba Busch Thor has been proposed by the Nominating Committee and there is no longer any other candidates for the party leadership. That she would not get elected is therefore seen as virtually unthinkable.

Something that even Peter Althin agree with.

– But this is of course a party that in some paragraphs believe in miracles, so you never know. I hope that those who vote get their act together, even if the chance or the risk is quite small, of course.

– How fast it goes I do not know. But I can not join a party for a policy that is foreign to me. If it gets on Monday or a week I do not know. I have never left a lot earlier.

Gunther: Concerned about the development

Even KD’s business policy spokesperson Penilla Gunther – who himself ran for the party leadership – is concerned about the party’s swing to the right.

Asked if it could be that she is not comfortable with being left in the party anymore, she says:
