Double Homicide Sentenced released from custody – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

– He’ll probably be acquitted, or have a very short sentence, saying the man’s defender Thomas Bodström said.

Manslaughter verdict against the man in the District Court was appealed to the Court of Appeal, where the prosecutor contended for life for murder. But now he has been released from custody, writes folkbladet.se.

The man’s 33-year-old brother, who is also suspected of the killings, was acquitted by the court. According Bodström frees him likely again this time.

– It is a tougher legal assessment of the Court of Appeal. The truth is that there has been a total mess and you do not know what happened. And then you can not judge anyone.

The background to the altercation was an infected family feud, involving many, that culminated during the Easter celebrations last year. A third person was seriously injured.

A large number of weapons seized by police after the altercation, including the gun, crowbar, knife, poker and a pool cue.

– This has been a great tragedy, many have lost their relatives. I hope that the church may appear and be active for a reconciliation between relatives.

Judgment in notified on 22 April.
