Headstone of wood won design competition – Västerbotten Courier

A headstone need not be made of stone.

A variant of solid oak were announced on Sunday in Gothenburg as the winner of a design competition.

“Sitting together.” So named the winning grant competition announced by the Swedish Church’s employers’ association, which attracted about 260 artists and designers to participate.

It is designed in oak Per Brandstedt from Falkirk. The prize is 75 000 SEK.

The purpose of the contest, which was announced early this year, was trying to renew one of the most important symbols in cemeteries and grants have also varied greatly.
