5459 dead in Ebola – Aftonbladet

Stockholm. The number of deaths in the current Ebola epidemic in West Africa, has risen to 5,459 from 15,351 reported cases, according to the World Health Organization. Statistics extends until 18 November this year.

“The spread of infection remains intense in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone”, writes the WHO said in a statement on its website.

In Mali all the six people confirmed infected with Ebola now dead. At least 327 people who have been exposed to the virus, are under observation.

At the same time explained the DRC free from Ebola, after a separate outbreak that killed 49 people in the remote Équateur province in the north. It involves two incubation periods have passed without a new case. The outbreak had no connection to the epidemic now raging in West Africa.
