The lander Philae from the space probe Rosetta has begun sending back volumes of scientific data from the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Thus, a nail-biting wait is over for ground control at the European Space Agency.
“Information flows from @ Philae2014″ cheered the ESA on Twitter late Friday evening Swedish time, AFP reports.
The robot lander has just two communication windows day and experts had feared that the batteries would run out before the collected data could be downloaded to Earth.
Since Philae ended shadowed from sunlight when it landed Wednesday may lander, not nearly as much energy from their solar panels planned.
