We say yes, but we should do it in a pace as finances allow.
When Conservatives on DI:s op-ed piece went out and said no to the plans to build high-speed trains in Sweden sounded the reactions do not wait. M-tops are protesting against the decision, and the government is moving forward with its infrastrukturproposition in advance.
” It has been a lot of discussion and we are clear now that our goal is to build new main lines for high-speed trains. We say yes, but we should do it in a pace which the economy allows, said minister for infrastructure Anna Johansson (S) at the government press briefing.
In the government’s draft so added 100 billion to the national plan for infrastructure that extends between the years 2018 and 2029, which is in addition to the increase in funding for rail maintenance at 1.34 billion 2016-2018, which the government previously presented. Anna Johansson described the need for better rail transport as enormous.
– We see every day, the trains are not on time, it is the cross track error, it is växelfel.

the Government hopes be able to build high-speed trains in the stages of the regional, but gives no målår then the whole höghastighetsbanan should be completed.
– Ändpunktstrafiken between our major cities is still the main idea but the main reason that we proceed regionally, we are seeing big shortages. You can start at those places and get pretty big, direct leverage for investments.
Now it’s going to be done in stages so I think we will get an agreement on the term.

Anna Johansson tones down the conflict with the Conservatives.
– We would like to see a broader agreement, and I think there is still an opportunity for it, “she said, and added:
” If we had gone forward with the entire höghastighetsbanan in a package I had maybe made a different assessment, but now it’s going to be done in stages so I think we will get an agreement on the term.

question about it is to start building without having the Conservatives on the plans, she replied:
– It is not possible to build checked as well with hiccups in the planning. But the first parts, however, is difficult to not do something about it.
At the pressträffen was klimatminister Isabella Lövin (MP), to emphasise that the bets on the railway also provides climate benefits. Isabella Lövin also pointed out that there are riksdagsmajoritet to reduce emissions from the transport sector.
– the Transport sector is the largest sector for emissions in the day. The infrastructure is also a prerequisite for increased housing and improve opportunities to be able to live in the entire country, she said.
the Swedish transport administration has estimated that the construction of high-speed rail will cost 230 billion.
