Maria Ferm (MP) writes in juluppropet – Day.see

” I have decided to write in juluppropet, says Maria Ferm, to the Day.

She is the Green party’s immigration policy spokesperson, who, before the party went into intergovernmental cooperation was the driving force in bringing the MP’s migrationsvänliga line. She has been with on the journey, where the government’s and MP together took the decision to temporarily put on asylum policy, to the EU’s minimum level.

Now selects Maria Ferm to sign a petition which is directed against the law which her own party has been introduced.

Why?

– it is an important initiative for a humane migration policy, and that is the direction the green Party want to work in the future. It is extremely important issues highlighted in the juluppropet, both as regards the vulnerable situation of children and the right to be reunited with his family. There are issues that I think are extremely important and which I want to support.

MP has been decided on the current rules that juluppropet turns against. It is not your task to defend the policy?

– Well, and we are up for it, and for the decision we took. When we carried out the law, it was an extremely difficult decision for the whole party. We are working for a more humane flyktpolitik, but we did not have any better option on the table, ” says Maria Ferm.

She believes that the legislation had become even harder if the Greens had pulled out. An opinion that MP brought up already immediately after the agreement was taken.

” of Course I take responsibility for that decision, but now we put all our force to get a more humane refugee policy in the future. It is something we are working today and that the whole party are passionate about, therefore it is natural to stand behind this, ” she says, and then aim at the juluppropet.

How many greens have really signed?

” I think it is quite a lot. Those who join the green movement often makes it for climate – and environmental issues, and human rights, it is the questions which are the basis of many people’s commitment.

You write in juluppropet under family reunification. How do you want MP to work with it, within the framework of cooperation between governments?

” We have said that we as soon as possible to return to a more humane flyktpolitik, and remove practical obstacles to family reunification.

” the Legislation is temporary and are cancelled automatically if three years, with a checkpoint about two years to assess if there is need of legislation in the last year. Where we work in every way we can, for example, to faster able to provide all of the right to family reunification.

Maria Ferm says that the MP has a congress as quickly as possible to return to a more generous migration policy, there is a broad consensus on this in the party.

What do you think the social democrats says that the MP’s immigration policy representatives to sign juluppropet?

” I see it as natural for the MP to start going to a more humane direction, with the right to family reunification, that we should protect vulnerable children on the run, it is a reasonable target for all.

– We have taken responsibility for the legislation, it is no secret that that is where we are working. But it was an exceptional location last fall, ” says Maria Ferm.

She also explains that within the framework of cooperation between governments working MP in order to get to a more softer legislation. As an example, she takes up that unaccompanied refugee children had the right to stay for a longer time if they are studying in high school, and can’t be deported just because they reached the age of 18 years.

– we do what We can to get to a better policy in the future, ” says Maria Ferm.
