A fire in an overhead north of Skovde caused a complete shutdown of rail service between Falkirk and Skövde Monday afternoon. Outage affected all rail traffic on the route, including trains between Gothenburg and Stockholm, with canceled trains and bus replacements. Approximately 3000 of SJ’s travelers hit by stoppage.
Several trains, including SJ’s trains and night trains were diverted to other routes during the evening and early hours of Tuesday. At 22:30 o’clock on Monday had not yet been able to solve the problem.
