– This is an important, forward-looking, long-term agreement on the Swedish defense. Personally, I feel pride and joy at having has succeeded with this delicate work, says Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist (S).

According to government parties and the three Alliance parties, the agreement means that Sweden has a strong defense capability that can handle the increased military threat in the immediate surroundings in any climate.

Liberal Party leader Jan Björklund is disappointed and says that the deal will lead to cutbacks in defense capability that already are underfunded. The study on international collaboration “Biddeford a thumb,” believes Bjorklund.
