The Prime Minister Stefan Löfven with Ardalan Shekarabi visited Kalmar on Tuesday and held a press conference, where they talked about the E-health authority should be located in Kalmar, which means 100 new jobs to Kalmar.
It is the Government’s ambition to move out more authorities from Stockholm and E-health authority is first out. Kalmar is particularly suitable for e-health authority said Prime Minister Stefan Löfven:
– There are skills, knowledge, experience and structure, he said.
The reason for the placement of e-health authority is that the government wants to decentralize government operations and the choice fell on the Bay because it was one of the counties that had very few government agencies.
– Kalmar County is one of the counties that have relatively few government jobs, said Stefan Löfven.
It is the County Council in conjunction with the County Administrative Board, Kalmar Municipality, Linnaeus University and the Regional Council which has highlighted Kalmar as a prospective candidate.
– I am very happy, this is something we’ve been working a long time for, say Johan Persson (S), Mayor of Kalmar.
– What role have you played in this?
– I have had a role, I have sometimes felt like a nagging maja when I met the Prime Minister and the civilian minister. So we’ve worked hard on this issue.
– What are you thinking about Kalmar is now first among the cities receiving more government job?
– We were first with our request and it has been a process since then.
