12 years in prison for manslaughter in Norrköping – Aftonbladet

The family feud escalated in two deaths.

Now sentenced a man to 12 years in prison for manslaughter.

He also convicted of two attempted manslaughter and aggravated assault.

The event took place in Norrköping last year, when members of two families clashed in Hageby. Afterwards, described the police the place as “a battlefield”.

At least eight men were found severely injured – two of them, two brothers 48 and 44 years old, was later found dead in hospital.



“The conflict escalated “

The conflict began as indicated on Easter Sunday in 2014, when several members of the two families met in the Syrian Orthodox Church of St. Mary in Norrköping. Quarrels arose – and two people were beaten.

When the families would sort out the conflict degenerated instead of a bloody fight, where up to 60 people attended.

The origin of the quarrel is based on several sources a divorce which led to a custody dispute, further fights and accusations.

“Given the large number of actors involved, the goal has been svårutrett and demanded a thorough investigation. Based on the investigation, however, the district court could infer that a person intentionally shot at least four shots which met four other people, “writes Norrköping District Court in a press release.

Frias for murder

The district court nevertheless considers that the man acted” under provocation in a very fast process “and” in a self-defense situation similar “, and judge him because of manslaughter instead of murder.

Another man, the brother of the convicted, released at the same time. He was suspected of having stabbed to death one of the brothers with a knife, but the district court could not tie him to the crime, despite some DNA besvisning. No murder weapon was found.
