Dental Societies says one thing, brush and toothpaste companies another and textbooks on dental health of a third. As usual tandborstare it is not easy to sort out which one is the best way to clean their teeth. It shows a British study in which researchers examined the advice given from various quarters about the most appropriate way should brush. They note that it is not strange though it may seem confusing.
“In this study we found unacceptable contradictions among the advice from different sources,” said Aubrey Sheiham, one of the study’s authors, in a press release.
The method most often recommended was to “wiggle” the toothbrush back and forth with small movements to loosen food particles, plaque and bacteria. But there is no evidence that it or other brush methods are better than that “scrub” the teeth, according to the study presented in the British Dental Journal.
The researchers would like to see more research on the brush way that is most effective while easy to learn, so that they can develop better guidelines.
