Community. Men, men, men. Most professionals when it comes to text symbols representing the men, and now Google wants to change that.

A new emojiförslag can mean we can soon send female scientists, doctors and industrial workers to each other.

Anyone who wants to send a sms symbol, an emoji, as a policeman, construction worker, spy or guard so far has beautifully been finding out that they alone are depicted as men. But now Google wants to change that and has developed a range of new professions where the symbols may also be women.

Among the 13 new symbols are, for example, women farmers, chemists, cooks and doctors. They have been developed by a group of Google employees in an effort to promote equality in the workplace.

Highlighting diversity

“Our proposal means a new set of emoji that represent a wide spectrum of professions for women and men. the aim is to highlight the diversity that exists in terms of women’s careers and to strengthen girls in general, “writes Google.

Google sums up its proposal by urging Unicode to develop completely gender-neutral emoji:

“We recognize the importance of having an inclusive representation of all the people of emoji, whether they identify with a specific gender or not. “
