Explosion at the mall in Stockholm – Aftonbladet

An explosion shook Mood mall in central Stockholm on Tuesday evening.

People on the site testifies to a loud bang followed by a white light.

– There is reason to believe that crimes have been committed, says Sven-Erik Olsson at the police.

At 18:28 alerted police and emergency services to Mood mall with Following a loud bang.

– There were several records of a powerful explosion and a flash of light. We have cordoned off the Master Samuelsgatan down to Norrlandsgatan and has taken there techniques, says Sven-Erik Olsson, duty officer at the police in Stockholm.

Police have launched a preliminary investigation of devastation endangering the public.

– There is reason to believe that crimes have been committed, but what it is that has gone off I do not know. There shall technicians look for when they get there.

At 22 o’clock was the technical investigation done and the cordon around the mall was lifted.

– The preliminary assessment is that it concerned any sort of pyrotechnics. A form of powerful firecrackers, says Sven-Erik Olsson.

“I saw a white light”

Aftonbladet has talked to a witness who was in the vicinity of the mall.

– It was a nasty blow. I saw a

white light. The panes shook really. Now is the broken glass in the street and police everywhere, said the witness.

The explosion led to no injuries but the vehicles had windows smashed and part of the facade of the mall was damaged.

Candles a car

Shortly after the explosion blocked the police by Klara Tunnel, located a few hundred meters from the mall. A car with broken windows were examined there by police patrols with bomb dogs.

– The car had received the box crushed because it was nearby. Our engineers have examined the car to see if it can prove what happened, says Sven-Erik Olsson.

According to Sven-Erik Olsson is the owner of the car is not interesting in the investigation.

There are yet no suspect or arrested in the case.
