The father has first been interrogated.
He has given his view of what happened in the terraced area where his daughter was stabbed to death and her mother were injured.
– He denies the crime, prosecutors said Liselott Herschend.
On Friday demanded the man under arrest.
When the police arrived to the terraced area of Balsta, they were met by a terrible sight. A 9-year-old girl was hard stabbed and her mother was also injured. There was also the girl’s shocked father.
He was arrested on suspicion of crimes.
The man, who is 45 years old, was in poor condition in order to be heard. Only now has the first hearing him held.
– He denies the crime. But I do not want to go into more of what he has said, says Liselott Herschend.
At the crime scene, police found what they believe is the murder weapon.
– There is a knife, says Liselott Herschend.
The man is now in police custody on suspicion of the murder of the nine-year girl, the attempted murder of her mother and the assault and attempted assault on a man and a woman in their 20s.
Later in the day claimed the man detained by prosecutors.
– I have no comment, said his lawyer Bengt-Goran Hugoson.
The police tried to save the girl’s life
The first police patrol arrived at the scene before the ambulance, just over ten minutes after a neighbor raised the alarm after hearing loud screams.
– They were met by the shocked suspect the man and the two injured persons of whom one was a children who were not contactable. She was lifeless, says Christer Nordström.
The two policemen’s first focus was on the little girl – to save her life.
– One of the policemen started CPR. He held on for five minutes. He tried to save her life. He did a tremendously hard work at the girl, says Christer Nordström.
– The other policeman guarding the man. He was calm. His arrest was undramatic. There was no violence, says Christer Nordström.
The motive a mystery
When the ambulance arrived at the scene, they took over the rescue work. But the girl’s life could not be saved.
The police have had debriefing with the staff that was in place. All are described as deeply affected emotionally.
Earlier today police could not answer what the possible motive could be.
– The motive is still unclear, says Christer Nordström.
– The only thing I found out is that he does not feel good.
Even the neighbors in the townhouse area is difficult to understand how the terrible could happen. According to information provided to Aftonbladet, the father sought help from health care in Uppsala just before the murder. The man works as director of a successful IT company with a turnover of millions.
“Much work remains”
The girl’s mother is difficult shocked but has no life-threatening physical injuries.
– Police have been able to talk to her very short, says Christer Nordström.
In addition to holding hearings work the police are now having to take care of all the material they received yesterday.
– Then we launch the traditional investigative work we’ve terms this type of serious crimes. Very much work remains with the technical studies and the deceased girl will be investigated, says Christer Nordström.
Many shocked
The murder of the nine-year girl has shocked many residents in Habo.
Now the municipality is working to help the grieving and shocked the people.
– We focus obviously on giving support to all who need it. During the morning, distributed resources and has opened up the school where we have family team and is also available at the church center, says Raija Honkanen, Acting Social Welfare.
– Last night we focused on supporting those involved. I do not want to go into more detail on how, but we’ve been having all the time to support. We also have contact with the family today of course and offer support.
Raija Honkanen switches off the criticism that previously came from the liposome, working with crisis management.
– I can not really hold with it. Directly after the event was our priority entirely on family members and we were with them, she says
