Domestic Three people were taken to hospital and nine different medical centers after a fire with heavy smoke in an apartment block in Bergsjön in northeastern Gothenburg.
the fire raged only in the basement of femvåningshuset and could be limited there. But the developed smoke in such a large scale that three stairwells were filled all the way up.
– There was a lot of smoke and we had to take out some of the residents with the help of a ladder appliance, says Lars Jostelius the emergency services in Greater Gothenburg.
the apartments were evacuated and around 50 people had to leave them. These were dealt with either in a bus, requisitioned there in order to be a kind of warm shelter, or in the Swedish church hall at Rymdtorget nearby.
According to police spokesman Hans Lippens transported twelve people hospitals and health centers for care and all reported to have been lighter smoke damage. All apartments are searched in addition to acquire the certainty that no one has been left behind.
What it is burnt and the cause of the fire is unclear.
– The basement is closed off technical investigation and the incident is classified as aggravated arson.
