Several residents of an apartment block in Bergsjön in northeastern Gothenburg have had to leave their apartments because of a fire in the basement.
It involves at least 50 but may be a question of more because smoke has been strong and the smoke spread up through three staircases.
According to police spokesman Hans Lippens out at least five people to the hospital for monitoring. They have received lighter smoke damage.
– The fire is out now but there is still smoke why the apartments evacuated, says Bosse Johansson of alarm and control center at the emergency services in Greater Gothenburg.
A bus has been driven to the house where the evacuees can sit until the apartments and stairwells are utvädrade.
What it is burnt and the cause of the fire is unclear.
