The sound of New Year rockets was too much for the horse Helge who fled in panic. Hundreds of volunteers have participated in sökinsatsen which is now in its ninth day.
Helge owners Matilda Gustafsson still hoping to find him alive.
– There are fifty-fifty. The fact that we have not the slightest trace of him so it may be that he is dead. But he can also stand and hide somewhere in the woods, it has happened before.
Following a tip about a suspicious hole in a hole in the lake Limmaren outside Norrtälje continues sökinsatsen.
– Today, we must examine a hole and try to get a helicopter with an infrared camera and also examine a trail on a mountain in another area that goes out in the swamp, said Matilda Gustafsson.
As dogs and cats horses may experience stress associated with New Year rockets, causing many horse owners to close them or give them sedatives.
On New Year’s night was Helge outdoors on the loose – something that Matilda Gustafsson believe that the horses generally perceived as less stressful.
– Many times they may feel even more stressful when they are trapped, it’s just that they do not run away somewhere.
Helge had only lived on the farm for three months which can do that he did not find so good in the area.
