A suspicious object found at the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant.

The find was made in connection with a police – and the military exercise.

– Both our and the Defence Forces dogs mark of a package which is not included in the exercise, said Jimmy Modin, spokesperson for the police south region.

– We took it to one side and have it x-rayed. It was not possible to determine the content, despite this and therefore treated as a dangerous item, said Jimmy Modin.

The package found in freight handling and the surrounding area has been evacuated. The operation of the nuclear power plant is not currently affected.

Police bomb protection group is in place at the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant and to examine the package.

– We need to examine the object and see what it might be before we can say any more, says Jimmy Modin.

at 19:30 the police announced that the packets was investigated, and that the content is not deemed to be dangerous.

– It proved to be a container of a substance whose fragrance reminiscent of a substance dogs are trained to select for, says Jimmy Modin, spokesperson for the police south region.

– at the X-ray of the package also saw components that could belong to any form of homemade explosives and then they made an investigation.

But the object was not dangerous.

– There is also no suspicion of crime in the case, said Jimmy Modin.
