Pub Shot in the right unravels emotions – Aftonbladet

Crime. Now begins the trial about the shooting at a restaurant in Gothenburg, when two people killed, eight injured and many more at risk of being hit. It will be an emotional springboard for victims.

Eight men are accused of complicity in the attack, which the prosecutors were directed toward someone or some of the guests. But the restaurant at Vårväderstorget in the Bishop’s Palace was crowded by people who saw the Champions League football on television, Barcelona against Manchester City.

It was an evening that none of those present will forget . Several were fatal or permanent injury. Prosecutors believe that everyone in the room, 16 people in addition to the dead and injured, at risk to meet.

The worst in the beginning

the trial in the District Court of Gothenburg begins on Monday. It will last until the middle of July, and will be a protracted reminder of what happened one evening in March last year.

– It’s a very difficult thing for victims as clear, says lawyer Bjorn Hurtig, who is counsel for two people – one who was hit, and one who escaped without physical injury.

According to his experience, beginning the worst part of the trial for victims.

– Once it got started, and they had their hearings, so it can feel like that you get a small clearance, says Bjorn Hurtig.

All of the 24 survivors be heard as injured parties in the District court. In addition, planned interviews with some 30 witnesses, both general and some police officers, who according to prosecutors must provide different pieces of the puzzle of what the accused did before, during and after the shooting.

Five of the defendants are accused specifically of murder. According to prosecutors, there were two who shot with automatic weapons, one who kept watch outside and two in charge of the getaway cars. Who did what they have not been able to pinpoint, but they are considered to have acted in concert.

All eight defendants deny, however, entirely to be involved in the attack.

According to police and prosecutors to shootings at the restaurant March 18, 2015 linked to a conflict between criminal networks in a suburb of Gothenburg. The attack was directed against any of the guests.

Three of the eight now indicted were arrested the day after in another part of Gothenburg, in a car that police spied on. In the car were automatic weapons used in the shooting.

The indictment is essentially murder, attempted murder, complicity in these crimes, and in many cases heavy weapons offenses.

Six of the eight accused are aged 19-22 years. One is 25 years old, the eldest 28 years.

A 20-year old man among the five is also charged with the shooting death of a man 55 years old one month after the shots in bars.

Some of the defendants acknowledge minor drug offenses. Otherwise deny all.
