Expressen.se reports that the man has sought asylum in Sweden.

Carina Skagerlind, also spokesperson for the police, noting that the trip could have ended very badly for the man who said that he is 27 years old.

– As far as we know, he has gone into the container from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to Arlanda no stops. It’s a pretty long journey, she says.

Skagerlind says that at present there is no suspect in the investigation of human smuggling.

– We have not come so far in the investigation. First we need to find out how this has happened, she says.

Skagerlind says that the man was found in a container that had pressure equalization, and that’s why the man had access oxygen during the trip. She does not know how the container was labeled or what possibly was transported in it. She would not disclose which airline is the case is about.
