Many passengers were evacuated by bus from the crash site. Maria Sahlin and Marcus Hellberg from Helsingborg sat in the fourth and last car in Pågatåget and did not notice much of the accident.

– I go here every day and it often happens that we have to wait right here for freight trains to switch if we get past. I sat in the second carriage, and felt that it shook. Not very hard but enough for me to understand. No one in my carriage was injured as far as I could see. But I heard that a pregnant woman had to travel ambulance, says Maria Thomasson.
Mary Thomasson was walking home from Perstorp to Helsingborg when the accident occurred. She called a friend who picked her up at the scene of the accident.
Lucas Drachas from Helsingborg was on his way home and he even sat in the second carriage.
– I felt it a bang, but it was not particularly serious. I never saw what happened, he says.
