Train derailed in the middle of Gothenburg – dangerous goods in cargo – Göteborgs-Posten

A train derailed just before one o’clock Tuesday night against Sävenäs siding in Gothenburg. Several carriages stand by the side of the track and at least two of them contain dangerous goods.

emergency services were on Tuesday night to Sävenäs marshalling after a train laden with, among other dangerous goods derailed and several wagons ended at the side of the track.

– There are more than two carts that have traced out and two of them contain dangerous goods, says Rolf Kagelind, Alarm Operator on Emergency Services Greater Gothenburg.

When the train derailed demolished even power lines down which meant that the 20 firefighters from three different fire stations were at the scene could not get through to the carts.

– They do not roll, but they stand and lean, says Bengt Andersson LC leaders of Emergency Services Greater Gothenburg.

The cars will contain a slightly corrosive substance, but they should not be the whim injured they sprung a leak.

– they have not been able to find any leaks, says Bengt Andersson.

Main Line had briefly completely closed to traffic and the night could then traffic released on, but with limited speed.

– Rescue Service wanted us to have a limited speed past the site so as not to create vibrations, says Henrik Flach, regional operations manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Just before four o’clock announced Transport Agency that trains passing the accident rolled as usual.

– No passenger train was hit, but it concerned freight, says Henrik Flach.

There is no forecast for when the traffic in the yard can be absorbed. There are also no reports on how serious the rails damaged by the derailment.

Shortly after three o’clock was a rescue team remains on site to monitor the derailed carriages if a leak should occur.

– Location is static on the site and you will not do anything the foremost in the morning when it is light, says Bengt Andersson.
