The police have been accused of the dark details of the assault on the youth festival “We are Sthlm” and crimes related to the asylum seekers.
Now the police authority’s ethics council expressed their views when the police may publish data on ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. This has been done at the request of the Chief of Police Dan Eliasson, writes Expressen.
The Council states that the police do not get dark sensitive data, but there must be objectively justified to publish them and they need to be relevant in this context.
the Council gives no concrete recommendations on how police should respond to the opinion.
– If the police take a report on human trafficking, it is evident that ethnicity is relevant, but there is a great difference between it and a press release or a single policeman gets a microphone in front of them, says Director Kerstin Wigzell to the newspaper.
