“No risk to travel by train in Hallandsåsen – Sveriges Radio

– The shaking has occurred on a stretch between Vejbyslätt and Bastad, thus also outside Hallandsås tunnels. Suggesting that it has nothing to do with the underground facility, but there is comfort problems in a number of trains, as we have been reported. Because of that no one should experience this discomfort, we have set down the speed.

The retired professor Roland Puschs theories about its construction, is not he with about. Roland Puschs think that the blocks can be driven apart.

Then these joints are opened up and then water pour in.

– We know well Pusch and his theories, and I can say that he is relatively alone among experts to like this. Other experts Corps says it is safe and tight tunnel, says Erik Lööv at Trafikverket.

– The shaking this has absolutely nothing to do with the tunnel, but it is something that occurs in trace facility or these current trains.

And he sees no danger at all that the tunnel can take in water.

– There is no risk. This is a comfort problems that we have. And that we will hopefully be able to resolve shortly.

When the trains can go through the tunnel at full speed again?

– We are doing the investigation right now, so I dare not give a date. We must first find out what the reason is and how to fix it. And we do that together with operators and Traffic Authority.

Is there any reason for travelers to be concerned about?

– Absolutely not. It is perfectly safe to travel by train through Hallandsås tunnels. The reason that we put down the speed that we have had a few trains that have shaken and we do not want the passengers should have to experience this. So there is no risk to travel by train in Hallandsåsen, says Erik Lööv, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration of the tunnel through Hallandsåsen.
