08:05 “Fredagsmys” for new arrivals in Navestad – Folkbladet

Delicatessen, particularly from Syria were laid out on the small basement room. There was initially a little cautious attitude among the approximately 40 guests – both families and unaccompanied youth showed up – but once you got started with the food was really cozy atmosphere. No one had to go hungry from this event, it is one that is safe.

The initiative for the evening came from Dhallaan which is a nationwide Somali aid organization for children and families with children.

Serar Daawud and Mohammed Sheikhdun during the one and a half years established organization in Norrköping, and then six months now it has been helped by Rental housing in the premises of Navestad.

in recent months they have sights set on helping new arrivals placed in the area to be integrated into Swedish society:

– From four to ten in the evening it is full here. We help with some teaching and trying to find activities. In the winter holiday, we will be in a football tournament in Linkoping, says Serar Daawud.

Just to enable those who come here are extremely important mean Serar who have Somali origin.

– I remember yourself how it was when I came here 24 years ago. It is important to have something to do. Especially when summer comes. Then I hope we can get help from the municipality to fix summer jobs for young people. Preferably together with Swedish adolescents. It is important that we mix with each other, he said.

For some time now cooperates with Nykterhetsrörelsens Bildningsverksamhet (NBV) to be even better at language teaching.

– Language Cafés & such is probably good. But a study with real lessons are much better. Then you can have a snack together afterwards, says Mehmed Hamzik, business developer at NBV Norrköping.
