Executed in the train – flew 50 meters – Norrköping Newspapers

The alarm is received by the fire at 17 o’clock on Thursday. A car crashed into a train at an unattended tågövergång outside Åtvidaberg. It was a violent collision where the car drove into the side of the train, spun around, hit the train again and then came out in the terrain, down a slope next to the track.

– It has flown away quite far. Those that are in place are talking about 50 meters into the forest, says Stefan Hagdahl internal command of the rescue service in Östergötland.

A middle-aged man was in the car during the collision. According to Roland Carlson, duty police officers in Östergötland, did he not seek medical care.

– The person is unharmed so that is positive. He does not want or need medical attention.

A woman who was traveling on the train, however, have been damaged by the collision, according to Håkan Jonsson on the emergency services. It was at 20 o’clock still unclear how extensive. She was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital in Linköping.

There was an early stop in the train service between Linköping and Västervik because of the accident. When traffic later in time replaced some departures by bus between resorts.

The accident will be investigated by the police.
